Koriot boulder opal patterns are formed through a fascinating geological process. They are essentially created when silica-rich solutions seep into cracks and fissures in sedimentary rocks, such as ironstone. Over time, these solutions solidify and form opal. The patterns and colors in the opal are determined by the size and arrangement of the silica spheres within the stone. This process can take millions of years and produces some of the most beautiful and unique gemstones in the world.
